DEI Audit Sample
Give your organisation a mark out of 10 for each of the following questions, with 0 = never and 10 = always.
Count up your score at the end and see where your total falls on our marking system below.
1) Do all of your job ads use inclusive language, e.g. no indirect discrimination via gendered language?
2) Do you have processes to eliminate biases during hiring - from CV review, to interviews, to candidate feedback?
3) Do you gather and analyse data on the demographics of the people in your organisation?
4) Do you have employee affinity groups with funding and the power to make/recommend organisational change?
5) Is your office space (if you have one) inclusive at every touchpoint, e.g. overall accessibility, gender neutral bathrooms, inclusive decorations, etc.?
6) Are all your of your meetings explicitly structured to give everyone attending a way to contribute, with leaders speaking at the end, i.e. not unstructured ‘chats’?
7) Do you offer paid family leave, e.g. parental, adoption, death, family illness?
8) Is work-life balance embedded in company culture and seen as a competitive advantage/way of life for the organisation?
9) Do you hold celebratory events to highlight underrepresented groups (e.g. International Women’s Day, Pride, Eid, Black History Month, Disability History month etc.)?
10) Do all leaders publicly demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion?
