    Whether you are just starting your DEI journey or ready to take your knowledge to the next level, this course is a great way to review what DEI means to your team, learn practical DEI strategies and build a transformative action plan.   • Unconscious Bias

    Did you know that your behaviour is driven by biases that you might not even be aware of? They influence your worldview, relationships and professional conduct. In this training, uncover your biases through self-reflective exercises and learn practical strategies to manage them. You will learn about the importance of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at work, learn inclusion strategies, and build an action plan.

  • Allyship

    In this training, you will learn what it means to be an ally to marginalised groups to which you do not belong yourself. Through exercises, scenarios and discussions, this session with help you to unpack privilege, respond to microaggressions and understand how to use inclusive language in your life and work. The training will also cover practical allyship strategies for the workplace, such as cultural intelligence, inclusive meetings, setting and respecting boundaries and giving and receiving inclusive feedback.

  • Microaggressions & Conflict Management

    Dr Derald Wing Sue defines microaggressions as: ‘The everyday slights, indignities, put downs and insults that those who are marginalized experience in their day-to-day interactions.’ In this scenario-based training you’ll learn how to identify and respond to microaggressions as the target, bystander, initiator and organisation.

  • Psychological Safety

    Psychological safety is an environment where your team feels safe to speak up with ideas, questions, concerns or mistakes. The result? Improved innovation, problem-solving, higher retention and inclusion. In this scenario-based training, discover organisational and interpersonal strategies to foster psychological safety in your meetings, communications, and hybrid working patterns.

  • Inclusive Leadership

    Drawing on organisational psychology and behavioural science, this skills-based training equips participants with practical strategies in psychological safety, allyship, boundaries, inclusive meetings, feedback and cultural intelligence. The training will help participants increase self-awareness of their personal leadership styles and make a personal leadership development plan for the future.

  • DEI Audit

    Identify your organisation's DEI strengths and weaknesses using 3 surveys: Diversity Monitoring Form, Inclusion Survey and Policy Equity Survey. Review the results in a 3-hour workshop facilitated by an expert consultant. In the workshop, you will begin to build your DEI vision and strategy.

  • Listening Circle

    A safe space to discuss various DEI and wellness topics amongst colleagues, managed by an expert facilitator. In sharing personal stories, feelings, and ideas, colleagues build compassion and work together to process and heal. Examples of previous listening circle topics include resilience, burnout, boundaries, toxic positivity and LGBTIA+ allyship.

    Duration: 90 minute session for 20 people.

  • Bystander Intervention Training

    This scenario-based training empowers attendees to identify, respond to and deescalate discrimination and harassment in the workplace. By learning the safest and most successful strategies (e.g. the 5 Ds), attendees will gain the confidence to UPstand. The aim is to build a sense of collective responsibility for each other’s safety and dignity at work.

  • Inclusive Recruitment

    Learn how to de-bias each step of the recruitment process, including candidate attraction, writing job ads, reviewing applications, interviewing, candidate selection, feedback and onboarding. Audit the strengths and areas for development of your current processes and work with your colleagues to create a practical action plan.

  • Antiracism

    We will unpack issues around race, racism, antiracism – from their historic origins to their present-day impacts. You will learn a range of practical antiracist strategies and how to apply them to your life and work. Together with your team, you will create an action plan to make your workplace truly inclusive and antiracist.

  • Gender & Sexuality Equality

    Learn to advocate for gender and sexuality equality in your work and life. Discover the differences between sex, gender and sexuality, discuss what the LGBTQIA+ umbrella term really means, unpack the patriarchy and heteronormativity, and learn bystander intervention strategies via real-world examples.

  • Disability Awareness

    In this interactive online workshop, UNLRN’s Disability Lead Samantha Renke will give you an honest breakdown of how disability is viewed in modern society (including media stereotypes and workplace barriers). Drawing on her own experiences, Samantha will explain the mechanisms and effects of ableism, guide you through practical disability allyship strategies, and give you a thorough breakdown of what is and what is not disability inclusive language. After all, disability is not a dirty word.

  • Sustainable Advocacy

    The most passionate DEI advocates are often at risk of burnout, re-traumatisation or vicarious trauma. To keep their efforts sustainable, it is essential to develop resilience skills and coping mechanisms. Drawing on research in psychology and sociology, as well our own experiences of working in DEI, this skills-based training equips participants with strategies to increase self-awareness, understand personal limitations, set boundaries and proactively self-care.

  • Intersectionality

    When discussing discrimination, oppression, and fair treatment, it is important to recognise that people can have a variety of identities. This means that they can be affected in multiple ways by social prejudices. For example, if a person is Black and a woman, she will experience both racism and sexism. In this interactive workshop, you will learn what intersectionality is, how it can apply in the workplace, and gain a more rounded understanding of marginalised experiences.

  • Returning to Work

    Parenthood disproportionately affects women’s economic empowerment and ability to participate in the workforce. Parent-friendly work practices can help to improve gender representation in your organisation. One of the biggest opportunities you have to make a lasting impact is when mothers return from maternity leave, especially the first 90-180 days. In this session, you will learn practical ways to support new mothers who are returning to work after having a child, so that they feel safe, empowered and valued as they navigate this challenging, career-defining transition.

  • Cultural Intelligence

    Culture impacts how we receive information to how we make decisions. Globalization has led to the rapid connection of international employees, creating an amazing opportunity for cognitive diversity, but also throwing up challenges in miscommunication and conflict. In this training, you will learn actionable strategies for effective cross-cultural communication, feedback giving and receiving, presentation, evaluation, decision making, rapport building and conflict management. By being sensitive and adaptable, you can collaborate successfully across cultures and tap into the benefits of diversity.

  • Inclusive Nutrition Training

    Food is much more than energy for our bodies. It is also a cultural heritage. Most diet plans limit our understanding of healthy food by emphasising Eurocentric cuisine. Salmon and kale are healthy...but so are millet and okra. Healthier eating isn't about making swaps here and there to fit someone's culture into a Eurocentric diet. It is about having a deep understanding of the way the person eats, how they cook, their practices around preparing and serving food and helping them to reach their health goals with all those things in mind. This workshop will aim to redefine what healthy eating looks like.

  • Inclusive Language

    Language has the power to draw us closer together or drive us further apart. In this training, we will take you through the core principles of inclusive language, followed by practical tips and exercises around language relating to gender, sexuality, race, disability, religion, and more.

    Learn how to create accessible and inclusive content for a diverse range of audiences (incl. people with disabilities, ESL, older people, etc). With practical examples, we will explore best practices for inclusive language, representation, video, layout, colour and typography.

    Inclusive brand communications have the power to drive ROI, build long-term brand trust, and shape a more equitable world for everyone. In this interactive session, you'll discover how to create inclusive content for diverse audiences, including best practices for storytelling, language and accessibility.

    On this course, you will learn techniques for impactful public speaking for professional context - for example, meetings, presentations and virtual events, and beyond. The training can be delivered to a small group (maximum 10 participants) to allow for interactivity, or as private coaching, where the programme is tailored specifically for individual needs.   • Inclusive Storytelling

    The media we consume affects how we think about ourselves and each other. That is why it’s important to identify the messages you're broadcasting and whether they are leaning into stereotypes or harmful assumptions. This workshop will explore the impact of media on our perceptions, present examples of discriminatory and inclusive attitudes in media and discuss the effect of unconscious bias.
